Artists rendering of the new Schwab's and the original built in the 30's
You've all heard of
Schwab's Pharmacy.
It's rumored that Lana Turner was discovered there

The original was located at

It opened in 1932 and closed in 1983.
The exciting news it that they are building a new Schwab's.
Why is that so exciting? Because of the new location!
Shirley's star on The Hollywood

There were a number of press photographers
at the event.
Shirley sat and posed for photos at The Art Center in Ojai.

When it was time to march over to the open-air theatre in Libbey Park,
Shirley was escorted by the local high school band. They played a marvelous
rendition
of "The Wells Fargo Wagon" as we walked from the reception held at
the Ojai Art Center
to the park next door. We walked over a lovely wood footbridge and past a
charming bandstand.
I was walking with Shirley so I could not take photos during the actual
procession.
However, I did get this great photos of the lush green park before the reception
began at 5:00 pm.

More News About Fawn Park.
An important piece of our American history
will be a focal point
at
Shirley and Marty's Fawn Park.
The Ingels sent a letter requesting
a memento from the 9/11 tragedy.
They were told that
few were available and that
high priority was needed.
Letters and stories of the new park
convinced
the powers that be
to approve and confirm the donation.
A plaque from the Mayor will accompany a piece of steel from the Twin Towers.
Marty said that the park represents what America is all about.
The monument marks a period of our current history that will never be forgotten
and it will be persevered in Fawn Park for all future generations.

Marty and Shirley have this tentative map of what they hope the park
will look like when completed. To the left in Marty's drawing there is a
volleyball court and horseshoe pit. That's a large play area (lower center).
Trees, benches and flowers everywhere. Shirley and Marty have
not yet decided on where the historical artifact is to be located.
Shirley
has completed work
on two new films This summer.
"Bloodhead"
is Shirley's first HORROR film!
Her other new film, which also stars Wendy Malick,
was shot in
Pacific Palisades (west of Hollywood). Shirley plays crazy aunt Sis!
She said that it's a dysfunctional comedy titled (I kid you not)
"Bathroom
Boy".

Shirley is having a great time portraying unusual characters these days.

because Marty would not stop hiring contractors! As he himself puts it:
"It's the first divorce action on history where I could go out with
75 hookers

August 1st - Shirley was
a guest on "THE TEST"
The FX Network Program is hosted by Jillian Barberie.
(Shirley taped the show in Los Angeles, a
few days before it was broadcast)
Celebrities are asked a series of questions that make up a personality
profile.
Wednesday's show was a Superstition Test.
One of the questions: "Do
you wear a special item
or perform rituals before a big event?"
Shirley's answer: " I really don't do anything. I do the usual
things
like vocalize and yawn a lot"
At the end of the show they determine if the guest is superstitious
or not by the numbers they receive for each question.
Shirley got a zero. She's not at all superstitious.

The
Music Man Square

This
was just a dream on the drawing board back in 1999.
Now you may stroll along this
turn-of-the-century indoor streetscape,
complete with the "Candy Kitchen", "Pleazol
billiard parlor" , a Children's
Explorarorium, a Conservatory of Music, the Reunion Hall and a Theater!
Meredith Willson's
100th Birthday, May 18th, 2002
This date was to be the official Grand Opening for the entire
Square.
I'm now told that to coordinate the Annual North Iowa Band Festival
with the opening of Square, the actual Grand Opening is to be on
May 28th.

Shirley's AMC
Fashion Tour
It all began in Boston, Mass. on
March 19th
and finally wrapped in Detroit, Michigan on
May 5th.
We certainly hope that you were able to visit one of the tour stops
to see Shirley and this Fabulous Fashion Show.

Shirley
was interviewed on the local news station KUSI in San Diego.

Finot, Gene, and Shirley outside the AMC bus
after the 3rd "Fashion in Film" show on
April 21st.

Special Thanks to Finot, Shirley's personal assistant for this tour,
her fabulous agent Gene, and most of all Shirley who I admire beyond
words.

A tired but relaxed Shirley Jones after the second
of four Fashion Shows.
Shirley has had this small, yet cozy motor home for the extensive tour.
There's a TV over the cab section (a tennis match was on in the
background).
She has a kitchen area with a sink and table toward the back of the van.

There's much to report
about this wonderful, exhausting whirlwind tour.
Shirley's first comment to me when I asked her "How's the tour been
going"?
"I don't know where I am, or who I am!"
But she enjoyed it.
I will be presenting more
information from the fashion show. There were gowns from
Shirley's "Carousel"
and another from "The Music Man".
Plus, other dress selections like the one below.

I believe this is a dress
that
Audrey Hepburn wore for the movie "Sabrina"

Special Thanks to Shirley's manager Gene for sending this article.
When we called the paper to order a back issue it was completely sold out!

Shirley Jones and Marty Ingels.
The
seminar was very
interesting and of course entertaining with those two involved!
It was all about Therapeutic Separation.
Dr. Ron Podell helped Shirley and Marty with some of
the
tension and anxiety that had built up in their 25 year marriage.

Shirley responds to a comment by Marty &
Marty talking to a guest in the audience.
The Seminar was held at the
Doubletree Hotel,
in Santa Monica, Ca.

A five minute break from their
seminar
for a quick surrey ride around the hotel lobby.

This is the surrey that
Marty gave to Shirley that evening.
The green arrow points to publicist Ed
Lozzi who looks on happily as
bright lights and cameras capture Shirley and Marty in a hug.

What A Wonderful Time!
Thank You
to all of our friends from this web site
who were able to drop by for the exciting autograph signing sessions
in North Hollywood. Saturday and Sunday
(Jan.
20/21).
Shirley had a fun time, although she actually started to get a
little giddy (her own words) at the end of the second day.

A fellow named Mark, & Shirley signing one
of thousands of
color glossy photos that people purchased to have personally autographed.
At times the crowd was quite
overwhelming. Ray and Sharon Court
who arrange for these fabulous celebrity events mentioned to us that
Shirley was by far the most popular celebrity this weekend. (well
naturally!)
However, there were many great performers at this show.
