The family records a song at Marineland to benefit the New York Zoological Society
and to help in the fight to save the Killer Whale from extinction.

This was one of the rare times that Shirley was given a solo during  the run of the television series.
The Whale Song was written by Dan Pevton and Marty Kaniger .
It is certainly the most asked about Partridge Family song at Shirley's Web Site.
Anyone who has ever heard this tune loves it. It is a simple and beautiful song.
But when Shirley Jones sing it, it's absolutely unforgettable.
